Country #27 Is Growing on Me
Greetings from country #27, Romania!
Multiple people have asked me why I am visiting + what does the main city of Bucharest have to offer? My answer has been simple, let me find out!
I find myself doing less research of “must do’s” before I arrive to a city, to allow the people, weather + my natural curiosity lead me in a direction of what I should explore. I’ve had the chance to learn about the history on my free walking tour, the inside of the Parliament building (thanks to joining National Kids Day), relaxing in the green, lush parks, trying Papanași the Romanian “doughnut” while exploring different neighbourhoods + coffee shops.
The language of English is incredible high, the transportation is easy to use, however you will be charged for a ticket every time you tap your card (vs. having a time limit) + the weather has been FULL summer. Hovering over 30C has really made me feel like we’re into the next season… + I don’t think I’m ready to melt (sweat) yet.
I can’t say there’s anything in particular that has impressed me in Bucharest, + overall it’s not a city I could see myself settling in, unless the car lanes turned into bike lines, then maybe I could be convinced!
