March Community Call Highlights

The highlight of my month is gathering travel like-minded individuals who have a genuine interest in connecting with global friends - the premise of the Your Travel Friend Community!

A warm welcome to Hans who joined us after finding one of my Tuscany, Italy YouTube videos when researching for his own trip 👋 The conversation naturally flowed talking about transportation, passports + what it means to have 2, a well travelled pup, food comparisons + a travel friend’s major life update. 🚆 A lively discussion about the reliability (or lack thereof!) of the Deutsche Bahn. Although outside the stereotype of Germans being on time, DB delays are a common travel experience.

🐶 Hans introduced us to the idea of travelling with his furry friend, who very likely has more passport stamps than most of us. There are awesome choices like Trusted Housesitters + Roover making travel with or without your dog easier when like minded travellers can take care of them in the meantime.

📜 Dual passport holders arose concerns in regards to some nations potentially invoking changes in the rules for dual nationalities + the difficult decision some may face to choose one nation over the other.

🍽️ A delicious debate ensued comparing the vibrant flavours of Mexican cuisine against the rich culinary traditions of Peru for farther south than Canada options for foodies.

🥩 The food debate of Mexico vs. Peru also brought up the "normality" of guinea pig, ostrich, and lamb being on a menu in comparison for some of our travel friend’s countries compared to the standard beef, pork + chicken for many Western cultures.

☕ We are continuing to follow Victor’s travel journey through Colombia, focusing on gathering resources about the coffee region ahead of visiting.

🇮🇹 One travel friend announced a major life change, moving countries soon and how they'll be leaning on the Italy group for support during this exciting transition!
