I Don’t Know Where I’m Sleeping in Ljubljana

You read that title correctly.

I didn't know where I was sleeping in 4 nights time in Ljubljana, Slovenia… a feeling that has become too comfortable in my life. I guess I have a bit of fear that I'm going to miss out on something if I end up meeting someone or discovering a destination that I really like.

I finally sat down on Tuesday, spending majority of my day (we're talking four to six hours of just travel planning), pencilling in my plans until December 🤯. That’s the farthest I've ever planned in advance in travel + it's a little bit scary.

The reason for this is I don't know if I'm going to like where I am + I don't know if I'm going to want to stay somewhere longer. To handle this, I try to find accommodations through booking.com or Airbnb that are flexible in terms of cancellation +  buses or trains that I if I cancel, can use the credit later on. I love FlixBus for this reason because if you cancel/reschedule, you receive a credit voucher for future use.

In Ljubljana, I've been lucky to have a cosy + welcoming apartment through my travel community to spend time being a homebody + resetting. On a personal note the week has been emotional + I think two factors played into this: my cycle + less socialising.

As I begun travelling planning those two reasons became big factors for how + where I would plan to stay. Finding capsule hostels or private rooms to increase the chance of new travel friends, vs. seeking a private space to feel comfortable during my next cycle.

If you're ever looking for support while on the road + want to talk to someone who's an experienced traveller who gets it I'm always available for a one-on-one chat. If you're wanting to maximise your vacation days or start travelling I can help you as you need!

Talk to you soon travel friend!
