I’ve Fallen in Love in Budapest

I’m in love…

…with the city of Budapest that  is 😝 What an incredible city here in Central Europe. It gave me the structure of a German city, with super clean streets (winning over Eastern Europe), with the slower, let’s enjoy a coffee type lifestyle of the Balkans. I’m a fan.

I stayed in a centrally located Airbnb + normally I’d share the link for you, but this spot just wasn’t up to par for my Travel Friends + I’ll be providing some constructive feedback privately to the host.

After last week’s walking tour there was much more to explore! The Parliament building alone is a piece of art, + from across the river on the Buda side, you can see it lit up at night 😍 Budapest gives major city vibes, with many districts, without the ability for skyscrapers to be built keeping buildings around 6-8 storeys tall.

The food scene too is 10/10. Plenty of vegetarian + vegan options while maintaining the more traditional meat heavy diet. My favourite (+ became a quick comfort food) was Langos - a deep fried dough with a garlic cream sauce topped with cheese for the traditional dish.

For transit you can pay by card or I suggest downloading the BudapestGo app to make for easy ticket buying (3 times in 2 weeks I was stopped to make sure I bought a ticket, so buy them @ first name. I never took out cash + was able to use my Wise card almost everywhere including the awesome Coworking space I spent half my time at.

I’ve dropped a lot of Google Map pins in my Hungary group + this is a quick reminder the Your Travel Friends Community is closing August 15! Jump in with a friend now while you can 💃🏼

Ciao for now! I’m off to rediscover a country I technically have been to before as a kid!

Hint: The sound of Music was filmed here 🎶 (iykyk)
