We’re Talking About Living in Turkey for 2 Months
I’m here, in Turkey, for a WHOLE month and I have to admit this feels like an adjustment period for me. The last time I based myself for more than a month was in April 2024 in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina (those vlogs are coming out next!).
I’m here with a fellow digital nomad, working from a local coworking space established by a Dutch digital nomad and living in an apartment together. The first few days felt like a bit of a chaotic period as we had to switch apartments after just 2 nights and I couldn’t get the shower to work. I recognize no shower for 3 days is a first world luxury problem… it just didn’t make me feel my most confident to start this chapter when I felt like I still smelt like an airplane.
Antalya is a VERY busy city with many people - tourists and locals, streets where pedestrians most definitely don’t get the right of way (I learnt that quick), TONS of quick casual food stands - make dinners and lunches out easier and the price of food is exceptionally affordable. I can eat a fresh, filling and well portioned plant based wrap for 60 - 175tl = $2.38cad - $6.93cad = €1.59 - €4.63. No where in Western Europe or Canada could you eat like that, it feels really comforting on my long-term travel budget.
Don’t forget we have our monthly group call on Monday 9pm GST+2 | 3pm est | 12pm pst where you can ask me ANYTHING including life in Turkey so far and the digital nomad lifestyle. It’s a chance to connect with like minded individuals and support dreams, planning or current travelling!
I can’t wait to say hi in a few days! Get the meet-up link.
